MC. Born 1875, Alness, Ross, Scotland, son of a cattleman. In 1891 was a farm servant (worker) in Kiltarlity, Inverness-shire; in 1911 a police constable with the Metropolitan Police, living in Police Section House, Westminster (single, age 35). Joined Royal Engineers, becoming Lieutenant. Awarded the Military Cross for gallantry during active operations against the enemy. Died of wounds in Llanelly, Carmarthenshire. Not on Church Row War memorial or in parish magazine, but a war grave in the ABG.
