In 1911 (age 19) lodging with French professor of physiology, Augustus Waller, at 32 Grove End Road, St Marylebone. BA Trinity College Cambridge. Rowing Blue – No. 5 in Cambridge Eight, 1914. Joined RNVR/ Mercantile Marine Reserve (AB PZ/2812). Commemorated on the War Memorial in Church Row.
