Son of George Charles and Adeline Ross (father was a wine shipper). Born Hornsey Rise, Crouch End in 1888. In 1901 and in 1911 family lived at 32 Avenue Mansions, 499 Finchley Road – parents and older brother and sister (father died between 1901 and 1911). In 1911 worked as a railway clerk. Family were members of congregation. Died from wounds; commemorated in ABG on grave E056, and on the War Memorial in Church Row. .
