About us

Who are we?

We are a team of volunteer researchers- historians, educators and a genealogist – and photographers. And most of us are members of Hampstead Parish Church.

Aim of the site

We want to create a repository for all the research and images generated as a result of the Community@War Schools Project which took place in the Summer Term 2014. We also wanted to create a resource that primary schools in the area and local history researchers can use even after the official World War One commemoration.

We were involved in a similar schools project in 2012 – ‘Tomb with a View’ – and the feedback we received encouraged us to create the ‘Community@War’ project.
