Alfred John Lewis
Son of Mrs. Ellen Lewis, of 9, New Buildings, Flask Walk, Hampstead. Found in the Parish magazine, but not commemorated on the Church Row War Memorial. There was a casualty clearing station at St Venant at this time; it is possible that the burial (in a civilian plot) predates the organisation of the military cemetery. [There may be a Lewis family connection from before the 1800s at least until 1962 (see graves XE025, H035/039, XF045, I 063/064, F053, O 086, J 058, H001). There is still a Michael Lewis on the old electoral roll and living in Hampstead today.]
