Son of Frederick and Evelyn Haeffner, father was a German merchant (naturalised Jan 1885) who settled in Hampstead about 1886. Fred jnr was born Hampstead 1890. Family lived at 22 Netherhall Gardens, Hampstead (until after 1921) – members of congregation (Parish mag). Fred jnr not living at home in 1911.Joined 28th London Regiment as a Private – 1180.
